Burberry September Show 2016

I’ve been backstage art directing Burberry’s September 2016 show capture – subsequently creating a set of (animated) collages. The collection was inspired by Virginia Woolf’s gender-bending novel “Orlando”. See more of the project here.

Early humans used herbs to repel insects, hide their human odor from animals they were hunting, or please their mates. Later, they began to use herbs such as rosemary, thyme, dill and others to mask the foul smell of spoiling foods…

Inspired by this prehistoric household methods and grandmother’s home remedies, myself and photographer Julian Mährlein explored alternative uses of kitchen herbs and created AnOther Guide to Herbs.



is known to ward of bad breath when chewed after a meal.
The chlorophyll in these green plants neutralizes odors.

has been found to help purify polluted water. Scientist have recently discovered that, in developing countries, cilantro might actually help to absorb some heavy metals found in contaminated ground water. Bye Britta!




Combine 1/4 cup white vinegar, 2 table spoons baking soda and 4 cups of hot water in a small bucket. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and drop in the rind –
for a citrus infused DIY all purpose cleaner.




is known for it’s Antebacterial Properties –
an excellent natural disinfectant and deodorizer.



Take 4 to 5 tablespoons of rosemary dried leaves and a little lavender
in a vessel of water. Boil it for few hours to prepare an infusion.
Cool down, strain and mix it with tap water to create your anti-hairloss rinse.
It helps to stimulate hair follicles as well as nourishes the hair shaft
imparting extra shine and softness to it.




A simple remedy for a toothache consists of placing a few whole cloves
against your painful tooth for up to 30 minutes.


rosemary bath


Make use of Rosemary’s odour fighting properties by steeping about 1/2 cup of dried rosemary leaves in 4 cups of tap water and adding them to your bath.
The essential oils will relax you, and keep body odours in check.

Lavender and Sage, wrapped to a smudge stick are believed
to clear negative energy from a space.
